Maui Trip 2017

“Mahalo” and just like that, our Maui trip is over! When you’re enjoying your time, 4 days will surely fly. An extra day on the island would’ve made it better for sure! Though it was short, our Maui experience was amazing and had us wanting more.

Here’s quick notes from our trip:

*We stayed at Andaz Hyatt. Great view. Great food – we had breakfast from Ka’ana Kitchen – we ate there every morning and didn’t get tired of it! πŸ˜‚ Lots of pool area. Awesome vibes and customer service from every staff. Being in hospitality, this is big. Every turn we made, the staff noticed us and attended to our needs. Maybe it helped that we had a cute baby with us hehe, they loved Jadine!😍 Seriously, one of the best hospitality service I’ve ever received! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ™ŒπŸΌ

*Soon as we touched down Maui, we made our way to Geste Shrimp 🍀 and it was delicious πŸ˜‹ we didn’t waste time and got some Shaved Ice 🍧 from Ululani’s – one of the best spots!πŸ™ŒπŸΌ We tried going out for dinner, but sadly, Jadine woke up from her sleep and we had to go back. We learned quickly that when on vacation, our schedule is dictated by baby – most of the time! Keep reading to learn how we managedπŸ˜‰

*Day 2, we had breakfast at Ka’ana Kitchen. We did the buffet and it was delicious! πŸ˜‹ I loved all the fruits especially the lychees and papayas. I loved the way they cooked their bacon πŸ₯“ nice & crispy! They had a good selection of pancakes, waffles and donuts with this mango sauce that’s full of goodness! Yummmmmmmm πŸ‘… Right after breakfast, we headed to Maui Ocean Center. Jadine saw a lot of different fishes 🐟, sharks 🦈, turtles 🐒, pretty coral reefs, jelly fishes, and more! We spent a good couple of hours here. Our next stop was Baby Beach 🌊 we setup our beach tent and dressed Jadine in her swim suit. The ocean water was baby friendly but Jadine didn’t like it much lol πŸ˜‚ she preferred laying out in the tent with me while playing with her toy. She also preferred just being in her diaper! Lol πŸ˜† We finished our day with dinner at Monkey Pod. This place played live music and had good vibes. It was a big loud so we requested to be sat out in the patio where it was quieter and more chill. We ordered their most popular wood grill pizza πŸ•, jalapeΓ±o mashed potatoes, mac n cheese! Food was great πŸ‘πŸΌ

*Day 3, after breakfast 🍳 we headed to Turtle Beach to see some turtles 🐒 apparently, they come out later in the afternoon so we only saw a couple chilling on the surface of the water. Instead of laying out, we played in the water with our feet in the sand. I had Jadine in the baby carrier the whole time while I carried an umbrella. We watched the waves (not as baby friendly) and Daddy while he took videos of the turtles with his phone. After an hour, we decided it was time to go. We didn’t realize how close we were to Mamas Fish House. We were supposed to go there for a late dinner but with baby’s bedtime schedule, we knew we wouldn’t make it so we took advantage of our time and headed straight there after the beach! Luckily, Jadine fell asleep and napped the whole time we ate. We actually enjoyed a nice early dinner πŸ˜‰ Everything was so good! We had Mahi-mahi and lobster tail. But the dessert was the best! (See below for pics). After we ate, we headed to Wailea Shopping Center to buy some souvenirs. Since it was our last night, we decided to hang out after we put Jadine to sleep. My hubby setup our phones with a baby monitor app so we could still keep an eye out in case baby woke up lol πŸ˜‚ We hung out at the pool and got some drinks and food at the bar. It was a nice night cap of the day!

*Day 4 (last day 😩), we decided to keep it low key. Breakfast and just hung out at the pool. It was a nice way to end our trip 😊

In conclusion, we got a good taste of Maui love and can’t wait to go back!! πŸ˜πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‹πŸ€—

Some things are worth the wait… buying a house, getting that job, going on that memorable trip, but most of all, finding the love of your life and yes – marrying him! Our wedding highlight video not only takes me back to a very special day. It takes me back to the time when Chris Dacoron and I found each other and fell in-love.
Great things have happened and we’ve shared so much this year. Though this video is overdue, it’s 100% worth the wait and it has to be shared – we hope you enjoy it!! πŸ˜‰
Thank you to our best friends and love ones who shared this day with us. Kudos to our photographer and videographer, especially the editor (see credits at end of video). Our wedding day will be forevermore remembered

Wedding Anniversary Tradition

Getting married last year was definitely one of the best days of my life! For our first year anniversary, I wanted us to do something special – something we can do every year to remember our wedding day by. Taking photos at our wedding venue last week and recreating one of the wedding photos we took from the wedding meant so much. It brought back fun memories from our wedding day and special moments we shared with our family and friends. We look forward to taking this same photo next year!

We can’t believe how fast time has gone by and now we are celebrating 365 days of our love/marriage. It feels great to have made it one year as husband and wife. We’re so humbled and honored that God made us for each other and with His help, we pray to be the best husband and wife to each other for all the days of our lives. Thank you to our dear God, to our family and friends. We’ve been blessed with so much, and this is only Year One. We cannot wait for the years ahead – to celebrate “forevermore” years of our love! πŸ™‚

Love the Life you Live: The Road of Resolution

Every year most people look for that change in life.. but who said you can’t make changes a couple months or mid year? Be free. Be good. Fear not. If you’re looking for ways to get resolution, below is a checklist I find pretty helpful. Give it a try and stick to it. You might just surprise yourself πŸ™‚

1. Relationship – reaffirm your relationship with God.
2. Review – look back on the past year and ask God to show you the area of sin and weakness that might thane hindered your spiritual growth.
3. Repent – confess your sin and ask God to forgive you.
4. Refresh – ask God to refresh you and to give you a new vision for the year ahead.
5. Renew – ask God to help you see your life from His perspective, and renew your commitment to His vision and purpose for your life.

~Lord, Hebrews 11:6 says without faith it is impossible to please You, “for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Therefore, help me today to trust You, by faith, a little more than I did yesterday. Please guide me through the foggy unknown of my life today. In Jesus name, Amen.~

Love the Life you Live: Thirty.

On September 24th, 2013, I turned 30-years old. It seems typical to be blogging about this age, but I’ve been fairly optimistic about it! Turning 30 wasn’t just about being another year older, but a reflection on all the things that has made me who I am today, and everything God has done to get me through the years before 30 and what He has yet to do to get me ready to be a better individual going into the years ahead. Thirty has given me a reason to make some changes in my life. Nothing too crazy or anything like that, just simply “going back”. I know this sounds weird because we’re always taught to move forward, but there’s a good explanation why I’m saying this.

After reflecting on many years before turning 30, I remember the time when I was first introduced to Christianity. I was really interested and always asked my Christian friend questions about his faith. My curiosity lead me to attending services and crying during the pastor’s sermon. I didn’t know what type of tears they were, but I knew I was uplifted and motivated from it. Eventually, I wanted to learn more. I started to read the Bible and other books about faith, and attended more sermons and talked with my friend more about following Jesus. Soon enough, I decided to stop any act of profanity, drunkenness and started to practice celibacy. Seems a lot, I know, but not really. I could’ve done more, but those changes were good because it was enough for me to begin a new chapter in my life. And this became one of the biggest turning point for me. So I least thought, until I lost touch with my Christian friend and got distracted with some difficult times. I know we shouldn’t have any regrets, but if I could, I would say this would be mine. Yes, I did make those changes in my life, but I did it for me. What I didn’t do was make the commitment to serve the Lord.

Realizing this has already given me hope to start over. I am committed to “going back” and this time to serve the Lord and not myself. How? I can’t really say yet, but I did learn that “making your life count” is always a good way to start. Because it is simply forgotten, I would like to share and remind for those reading this that we were created to do something great with our lives- something like Jesus did. And in order to do something, we need to allow Him to do something through us.

“God has to first do something in you before He can do something through you” -Miles McPherson

I know it’s been a few months since I’ve turned 30, but I still wanted to share this because it feels really good. It’s refreshing to feel uplifted and motivated again. I started reading my books again and doing research at every chance I can get. I am still on a mission to find a Christian community here in SF, so this is definitely a goal I want to accomplish by next year. It would be nice to have more support and also meet people to share my walk with God.
